About Us
We are Christians.
We believe that a person today can become just a “Christian” the same way people did in the first century as they heard the gospel preached and responded to its message. This does not require one to join a denomination or other religious body not found in the Bible, but rather to believe in Jesus Christ (Acts 8:37), repent of their sins (Acts 3:19), confess Jesus (Acts 8:37; Rom. 10:10), and be baptized into Him for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38). When a person does these things with obedient faith, the Lord adds them to His “church” (Acts 2:42), the body of saved people in Jesus Christ. The Lord has chosen His work to take place in the setting of local “churches” (Rom. 16:16) which are autonomous bodies consisting of Christians who worship and work together in a specific area.
We are worshippers.
We would love to have you come worship with us! We sing to God at every service (Eph. 5:19), we pray to God (Acts 12:5), and we take the Lord’s Supper on the first day of the week as a commemoration of Christ’s death and sacrifice (Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 11:23-26). The only collection of money we take up as a church is a freewill offering of our members on Sunday to carry out the scriptural work of the church (2 Cor. 9:7). At every service we engage in simple and understandable Bible reading, preaching, and teaching to urge the lost to obey the gospel, and to instruct and exhort the faithful (Acts 2:42; 20:7). Our goal in worship is to give God the glory and praise He deserves, and we do so in a decent and orderly fashion (1 Cor. 14:40), with great reverence, and without awkward or unnecessary practices not found in the Bible.
We are a church patterned after the New Testament.
As Christians who labor in a local church setting, our goal is to obey Jesus Christ, get to heaven, and to spread the word to others so they may do the same. This requires that we organize our church and our work after the pattern set forth in the New Testament. Our money, time, and efforts as a church are not focused on social events, community programs, or other works apart from the church, but rather benevolence to the brethren, edification of the saints, and evangelism, as we believe these things to be the authorized work of the church. We strive as a church to follow the simple pattern laid forth in the New Testament for churches of Christ.
